Zimbabwe Manga and Comic Book Awards

The Zimbabwe Manga and Comic Book Awards aim to celebrate and elevate local talent in the comic book and manga scene, providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and gain recognition within the community. By highlighting exceptional contributions across various categories, these awards seek to encourage creativity, innovation, and collaboration among Zimbabwean creators. The inaugural ceremony will take place during the Nakamarket 2024, allowing attendees to engage with and support local talent firsthand.

2024 Nominations and Voting

Nomination for the awards will open from October 30th to November 29th, 2024. Artists can nominate themselves or be nominated by others by submitting their work or providing links to their creations. This approach not only fosters community engagement but also helps in discovering new local works. After the nomination period, voting will occur from December 1st to December 7th, with all voting conducted by fans through online platforms and text messaging. The winners will be announced on December 8th, during the Nakamarket event, creating a celebratory atmosphere that recognizes and appreciates the hard work and creativity of Zimbabwe’s manga and comic book artists.

To try and reduce the replication of nominations, the list of works and artists nominated per segment will be shared daily from the 2nd of November until close of nominations.
